Derecho a Vivir – Right to Life

On September 4t, 2008 The Spanish Ministry of Equality, Bibiana Aido made public a free abortion law, which will be passed next 2009. If that law would become passed, the abortion crime, still in force in the Spanish Law, would disappear in our Criminal Code and the amount of aborted children (today more than 100.000 per year) will be doubled in a few years. 250.000 unborn children will not be born alive, 250.000 women will suffer from the abortion consequences. On the other hand, the economical benefits of the abortion business will be very significant.

In view of this prospect, a group of people have decided to spare no efforts to stop this massacre. On September 8th we appealed to all the forum members and friends of Hazteoir.org for asking them for ideas and suggestions about the campaign we were preparing. Messages sent from hundred of people were very useful for us to give shape to our plan to stop this abortion law that the Government is intending to impose.

In this way we decided to bring out a massive campaign to inform and raise public awareness about the realities of abortion.

A campaign that we are going to carry out focused on the slogan “Derecho a Vivir-Right to Life” and a web site www.derechoavivir.org, that will be our operations centre on the internet.

“Derecho a Vivir-Right to Life” means spread its message to millions of Spanish people. We want to establish a constant dialogue with our fellow citizen that allow us to fully know what the abortion means. If we achieve our purpose-we are sure we’ll do it- a social majority will force Zapatero to step back and withdraw his free abortion project.

Abortion always implies the violent dead of a human being and means a terrible drama for the woman who suffers it.

Spanish law abandons women before their problem and pushes her to abortion in an unsolidarity way. Every “abortion law” is a terrible hypocrisy for women in addition to a cruel injustice to the children who are left unprotected.

In Spain neither information nor social aid or assistance are offered to the pregnant women living difficult situations and yet it does exist financial aids for those who are going to abort.

Now, the Spanish Government wants to use all the legal means available to make possible that even more abortions can be carried out, leaving women defenceless and more unprotected, despite the psychological and physical pain that it implies for her. More abortion means less life protection and more insecurity for women.

Because all of this we demand that our laws protect the right to live and being a mother, protecting live in every moment and circumstances and helping pregnant women to get over any problem that an unforeseen pregnancy may cause.

At the same time, we are totally against to a this new abortion law that only will bring about more deaths and suffer for thousand of women.
